Types

FLT provides three generations of hub bearing configurations:

  • First-generation hub bearings: Consist of two separate tapered roller or ball bearings and require manual adjustment during installation.
  •  Second-generation hub bearings: Feature an outer ring with an integrated flange for easier mounting, though still requiring coordination with the wheel hub.
  • Third-generation hub bearing units: Integrate the bearing and wheel hub into a single unit, often including ABS sensors. These units are easy to install and are widely used in modern vehicles.

Features

  • First-generation Hub Bearings
    These bearings are typically configured as double-row angular contact ball bearings or double-row tapered roller bearings. They feature high load capacity, excellent impact resistance, effective sealing performance, low friction, and quiet operation. However, they require manual installation and adjustment.

  • Second-generation Hub Bearings
    This unit integrates a flange with the outer ring, simplifying installation. Internally, it still adopts a double-row angular contact or tapered roller structure. It offers strong load-bearing capacity, good sealing, low vibration, long service life, and ease of assembly.

  • Third-generation Hub Bearing Units
    The third-generation unit integrates the wheel hub and often includes an ABS sensor. Internally, it features a double-row angular contact or tapered roller design, capable of handling radial and axial loads with low friction. The sealing ring is made of low-resistance, aging-resistant elastomer bonded to a metal frame—providing a durable, high-performance seal. With an optimized leak-proof structure, these bearings are maintenance-free over long distances.
